The 2025 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre Beckons the Bold

With a legacy as distinguished as that of Rolls-Royce, aficionados were eager to see how the British brand would adapt its bespoke formula into an electric-powered platform. It passed this test with flying colors as the stunning Spectre quickly aligned itself with the luxury elite within the first two years of its lifespan. Now, the imaginative minds at Goodwood have fashioned a bolder alter ego for the EV grand tourer, featuring a significant increase in electric horsepower, new driving modes, and a darkened nightclub aesthetic. This is the all-new 2025 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre.

The Black Badge Spectre is Rolls-Royce’s most powerful model, effortlessly boasting 659 horsepower and 792 lb-ft of torque. The estimated driving range on a full charge is 251 miles. The uber-athletic, bespoke heir to the EV luxury throne is beyond beautiful, with compelling capabilities to highlight a 21st-century brand of artistry.

Throughout the creation of the Black Badge, Rolls-Royce engineers gathered thousands of miles of driving data from Spectre owners, meticulously analyzed their patterns and behaviors, and discovered that drivers preferred using the instant throttle response in short bursts rather than extended periods. As a result, the Black Badge Spectre features two new exclusive drive settings: Infinity Mode, which grants access to full horsepower at the press of a button on the steering wheel, and Spirited Mode, which briefly maximizes torque output. This specific mode launches the Black Badge Spectre from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds. Other performance upgrades include enhanced dampers that stabilize body roll in cornering to provide more feedback from steering input.

“The development of the Black Badge Spectre began with our understanding of engineering the uncompromising nature of the Black Badge character, overlaid with the detailed analysis of the client feedback and their driving style,” says Dr. Bernard Dressler, Director of Engineering at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “They emphatically approved our engineering response, highlighting the powerful connection between Rolls-Royce and its clients.”

The Black Badge Spectre also dons a darker wardrobe. It debuts in a gorgeous metallic finish called Vapor Violet, which Rolls-Royce says is inspired by the neon ambiance of club culture from the 1980s and 1990s. In addition, 5-spoke 23″ rims are available, and typical chrome exterior features like the Pantheon Grille and Spirit of Ecstasy are now coated with a signature black finish.

Pricing for the 2025 Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre starts at $490,000 (CAD 578,200). This collector’s item is more than a high-performance variant of Rolls-Royce’s first EV—it’s a statement of power, exclusivity, and bespoke craftsmanship.

As the purveyor of pristine automobiles continues to embrace electrification without sacrificing its signature opulence, the Black Badge Spectre proves that even in the age of electric mobility, Rolls-Royce remains in a class of its own.
