Porsche has a 911 for everyone. There’s a total of 25 variations of the current gen -known among enthusiasts as the 992- which include the base model Carrera, the violently fast Turbo S, the track-focused GT3RS, and much more. In my opinion, the true creme of the crop in the 911 lineage lies with this one: the GT3 Touring with a six speed manual.

What draws me to the Touring is its understated yet classic look. It meshes the simplicity of a Carrera with the aggressive styling of a GT3. The center-locked wheels and double barrel exhaust are subtle hints that it’s more than your average 911. The Touring uses Porsche’s formulaic 4-liter flat 6 engine, producing 502 horsepower and a top speed of 199 mph.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate its more flashier and purpose-built counterparts. But I’m not looking for something that’ll attract a crowd, and my non-existent racing skills aren’t getting me on the ‘Ring anytime soon. All I want a car that I can tack miles onto, and blows me away with its unmatched performance. The GT3 Touring is exactly that. A car that you can drive forever, without worrying if you look good while driving it. Based on the caked on grime on this one, I infer the owner feels the same way.
